The Shanley Hotel is located in Napanoch, NY. It consists of 35
rooms and a hidden basement. Rumors of mysterious cover-up deaths, murders
and secrets were slowly revealed from the spirits whose stories want to be
told. All this has been documented with EVP's, photos, well know psychics and
paranormal investigators. Visitors that stay at the Shanley Hotel may
experience the deceased former owner James Shanley whistling in the hallways,
the opening and closing of doors, footsteps up and down the stairs, the piano
playing ragtime music followed by the merriment of children playing.
Throughout the day and evenings you may also experience rocking chairs
rocking on their own, mysterious clock chimes, cold and hot spots along with
phantom smells. Some have feelings of being watched or followed. Many guests
have witnessed objects balancing in an unusual position or jewelry being
pulled off. The ghosts of the Shanley have a great sense of humor! Listen in
silence and you may hear dance music or the chatter of voices, laughter or
hair raising moans. The hotel has always been known as a place to meet,
greet, relax and have a great time! Such is the fact that they keep coming
back. There are no "evil spirits", just the ones who may walk through the
doors. But they always want us to remember the happy times and to create new
